Mission Statement

Yellowstone Christian College exists to instruct and mentor Christian men and women to shape the church and culture by reflecting Christ’s character.

Why is the Mission Statement important to you?

First, YCC believes instruction is not complete without guided practice, or mentoring. Our goal is for students to know how to do in life what they learn to do in the classroom.

We also believe men and women are called to serve the Lord in various ministries of the church. While there are distinct biblical roles for each, each is made in the image of God and has ultimate worth in the Kingdom and the local church.

Finally, YCC’s desire is for students to shape the church and culture, rather than simply be a passive part of the prevailing culture. Faculty, administration, and students participate in shaping the culture by gently reflecting one thing: Christ’s character.

At YCC, all faculty are well qualified in thier teaching field. In addition, all courses are centered-Christ; He is the basis for Truth.

Around 85% of our students, on their graduation day, leave campus with zero college debt.

Whether it’s in a local church, on the basketball floor, or on the ski slopes at Red Lodge Mountain, students will be able to be actively involved in the local community.

Unique Location

Nestled on the western edge of Montana’s largest city and shadowed by the Beartooth Mountains, Yellowstone Christian students have all of the amenities of home, but endless adventures are at their fingertips. With 110,000 residents, Billings is easily the largest city in Montana and the largest metropolis in a 400-mile radius. Restaurants, movie theaters, shopping, and professional sports, Billings offers it all. Additionally, Billings is the gateway to endless adventures. Three of Montana’s biggest ski resorts are within about a two-hour drive (Red Lodge Mountain, Bridger Bowl, Big Sky Resort). Miles and miles of hiking and mountain biking trails are tucked away just 65 miles southwest in Red Lodge.

Rich Heritage

Founded in 1974, Yellowstone Baptist College was established to train the future pastors and church leaders for the Northern Rocky Mountain region. The College didn’t have a permanent home until 1980, when the current campus grounds were purchased. Since then, the campus has grown, now with six buildings on campus (library, chapel, administrative/ classroom building, two residence halls, fitness center). The College was renamed Yellowstone Christian College in 2010 in an effort to draw students from all denominational backgrounds. Through it all, YCC continues to instruct and mentor Christian men and women to shape the church and culture by reflecting Christ’s character.
